Millburn/Short Hills is an energetic place where people truly come together to build community. The downtown area is sophisticated, charming, and approachable, making it excellent for anything from taking a weekend stroll to enjoying a night on the town. Beloved events like the Winter Walk In Taylor Park, and enriching outdoor opportunities like the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum, give community members ample opportunity to explore the neighborhood.  The area is also home to the South Mountain reservation and its many outdoor recreation opportunities.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

One of the best places to get lunch in town is the famous Millburn Deli, which is known for its expertly-crafted sandwiches featuring a fine array of ingredients. Fine dining options in town include Common Lot, MoonShine Modern Supper Club, and La Pergola. There is also the picturesque brookside Carriage House Restaurant.

While entertainment options are numerous, few come with as high esteem as the Paper Mill Playhouse. This Tony-award-winning regional playhouse always boasts an eclectic calendar to rival the offerings in NYC. For shopping, the go-to is undoubtedly The Mall at Short Hills. Since there are two different transit stations in Millburn/Short Hills, it's also easy to escape to the city for a day of shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Things to Do

There are many places to pick up a nice treat or shop for fresh foods — one of our favorites is Liv Breads. In addition to the Winter Walk, Taylor Park is a welcoming space to enjoy a picnic outside or take a walk with a loved one. Other nearby parks worth visiting include Greenwood Gardens, Old Short Hills Park, and Briant Park. Fans of golf have two particularly good options in the area: Canoe Brook Country Club and Maplewood Country Club. Prefer hiking? The South Mountain Fairy Trail is the place for you. If you have a pup, you'll likely want to take them to the South Mountain Dog Park.
